Hi, I'm Lorraine Crowe, a Certified Nutrition & Holistic Perimenopause and Menopause Coach, a natural skincare formulator and Pilates instructor. If you had told me years ago that hormones would quietly influence nearly every part of my life—from my skin and sleep to my energy, mood, and confidence—I’m not sure I would have believed you.
Like many women, I entered midlife doing what I thought I was supposed to do. I took care of myself. I used 'quality' skincare. I stayed active. I tried to eat well.
And yet, my body started changing in ways I didn’t recognize—or understand.
My skin became unpredictable...breakouts, dryness, irritation, and sensitivity appeared out of nowhere. Sleep felt lighter and more restless. My digestion and energy dipped. My mood shifted. Weight felt harder to manage, even though nothing drastic had changed.
What frustrated me most wasn’t just how I felt—it was how little guidance there was.
I was met with vague explanations, surface-level fixes, and the familiar reassurance that “this is just part of getting older.”
But deep down, I knew there was more to the story.
What I eventually discovered is what I now teach every woman I work with:
Hormones are the foundation.
They influence how you sleep, how you metabolize food, how you manage stress, how your skin behaves, and how you feel in your body day to day—especially during perimenopause and menopause.
Yet so many solutions focus on isolated symptoms.
Fix the skin. Cut more calories. Push harder in workouts. Power through the exhaustion.
I tried that path—and it only led to more frustration.
Real change didn’t come until I shifted my focus inward and began supporting my body as a whole.
